While you applied and get an interview call the most important tip is to practice beforehand. Conducting mock interviews and practicing answering them really aids in getting a feel for the interview. Practicing with another person will also help you understand your mannerisms that may become distractions during the interview, such as stammering or nervous habits. Obviously you can never plan for every question, but the more you prepare the more confident you will be in answering the easy questions, which will inevitably lead to confidence and poise when the surprise questions arise.The final point I wish to share from my job experience is the importance of realizing that often landing a job simply comes down to timing and a little bit of luck
